Window replacement solutions from the Component Award 2026

with the PHI com­pon­ent cer­ti­fic­a­tion de­part­ment and the award-win­ning com­pon­ent man­u­fac­tur­ers: Parka Wrap, New Zea­l­and; Eurofines­tra, Italy; Wicona, Ger­many; 21 De­grees, UK; Quantum, Canada.

Ret­ro­fit­ting plays a cent­ral role in cli­mate pro­tec­tion and en­ergy ef­fi­ciency strategies, yet it re­mains a chal­lenge due to tech­nic­al feas­ib­il­ity and cost. This is par­tic­u­larly true for win­dow re­place­ments in staged ret­ro­fits, which of­ten face bar­ri­ers in plan­ning, lo­gist­ics, and ex­e­cu­tion.

The Com­pon­ent Award 2026 in­vited stake­hold­ers to re­think how Pass­ive House win­dows can be in­teg­rated in­to ex­ist­ing build­ing façades with min­im­al dis­rup­tion, high en­ergy per­form­ance, and smart pre­fab­ric­a­tion strategies, wheth­er the in­su­la­tion or win­dow re­place­ment comes first.

The iPHA we­bin­ar will fea­ture short present­a­tions from the award-win­ning man­u­fac­tur­ers as well as the ex­perts from the Pass­ive House In­sti­tu­te’s com­pon­ent de­part­ment. There will also be time to ask the pan­el your ques­tions at the end of the we­bin­ar.
